Acer palmatum ‘Abigail Rose’
Rare Abigail Rose Dwarf Variegated Japanese Maple Tree
Zones 5-9
‘Abigail Rose’ is a spectacular dwarf form of Acer palmatum ‘Higasayama’. This cultivar was selected by the late Harold Johnston of Alabama who introduced many amazing maples. Coming from the Deep South, this tree is very heat tolerant.
Late day shade is preferred for the best display. This small tree has big time color as it blasts on the stage in early spring. The leaf has a heavy green vein outlined by whites and accented by a hot pink edging. The fall colors are oranges to red. The eventual height is about 6 ft and the form is dense and compact.
